Superior Treatment Cases

Aesthetic rehabilitation of the peg lateral tooth in the absence of central tooth

Before & After

Initial View

A 48-year-old female patient complained about the appearance of her teeth in the upper anterior region. In the examination, it was understood that the left upper central tooth was impacted and the left upper lateral one was in the form of a wedge. In the treatment plan, restoration of the left upper lateral in the form of a central tooth with resin composite was given.

Preparation of Superior Matrix

In order to avoid laboratory procedures and to complete the treatment in a single session, it was preferred to use Superior Matrix, an anterior anatomical matrix system.

Adaptation of Superior Matrix after Gingival Retraction and Adhesive Procedures

Because the forms of the matrices in the Superior Matrix system are specifically designed for the mesial and distal portions of anterior teeth, Superior Matrix makes the construction of anterior restorations less time-consuming, less technically sensitive, and less morphological information-requiring treatments.

Loading Superior Matrix with Composite (Here the cutting edge area is loaded with A1B, the other area is loaded with A3B)

In the case, the size of the Superior Matrix, which is suitable for the mesial part of the left upper central tooth, was adapted to the tooth. Isolation and adhesive procedures were performed on the tooth. Then, the composite was filled into the matrix to place the composite. In this case, the cutting edge of the tooth was restored with A1B composites and the jaw area was restored with A3B composites.

Inserting the Superior Matrix into the Preparation

Superior Matrix, filled with composite in different color layers, was placed on the tooth. During the placement of the matrix in the tooth, it is important that the position of the matrix is adjusted correctly. After the matrix was adjusted to the desired position, the composite protruding from the edges of the matrix was cleaned. After that, the composite was polymerized from different regions with a light source.

Appearance of Polymerized Composite After Removal of Superior Matrix

After the Superior Matrix composite is polymerized, it is easily removed from the tooth with a probe. The restoration is seen before the end. Thanks to its realistic anatomical form, the Superior Matrix output profile, gingival, incisal, buccal and lingual embrasures, secondary and tertiary anatomical structures are usually formed spontaneously on the restoration. Thanks to the Superior Matrix, the construction of a resin composite restoration with the ideal anatomical form is simplified for the dentist.

Post-Finish View of the Restoration

The condition of the composite restoration after the finishing and polishing processes can be seen. With Superior Matrix, it becomes extremely easy to give the restoration the ideal tooth form.
